These resources will allow the institution to have sufficient funds to meet the expenses prior to the construction of the Pacific International Airport.
The parliamentarians explained that the reform will not represent an extra expense for the State, since these resources had already been allocated to the autonomous institution's budget and only a reorientation is being made based on the institution's priority needs.
The construction of this airport will boost tourism and help to invigorate the country's economy.
It is expected that the Pacific Airport, which will be located in La Unión, will generate around 23,000 jobs during the construction stage, while in the first 12 months of operation it will employ 4,700 people, according to the autonomous agency's projections.
According to the initial design, the airport will have six boarding bridges and is expected to have 1,700 operations in its first year of operation, with an expected 80,000 passengers.
