Tigo El Salvador and Glasswing International closed the successful mentoring program "Mentores Con Tigo".

This program, designed to strengthen soft skills, leadership and provide guidance towards professional life for young Salvadorans, has made a significant difference in the lives of 150 participants over the past year, thanks to the commitment and dedication of 15 Tigo employees who have served as mentors, sharing their knowledge and experiences.

During 2023 and early 2024, the "Mentores Con Tigo" program has provided a unique platform where talented young people have had the opportunity to connect with outstanding Tigo leaders in various professional fields. These mentorships have not only provided practical guidance and valuable advice but have also inspired and motivated participants to reach their full potential and exercise positive leadership in their communities.

Mentores Con Tigo is part of our purpose to build digital highways that connect people, improve lives, and develop communities. We are excited to celebrate the success of this program with Glasswing, which fosters the growth of young people through education and mentoring. The commitment of our mentors and the dedication of the young participants are testimony that it is possible to provide transformative opportunities to those who need it most and open doors to a brighter and more promising future. Álvaro Mayora, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Tigo El Salvador.

The program addresses topics such as mental health, life skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, labor inclusion, personal finance, job interviews, among other topics that strengthen critical thinking and prepare them to respond to the diverse challenges of the environment.

The results of the "Mentores Con Tigo" program are testimony to the power of collaboration between the private sector, non-profit organizations, and the community at large to create positive change in the country.

Tigo's work with Glasswing

On september 16, 2022, Millicom (Tigo) and Glasswing International announced the launch of a joint mentoring program to support students and young professionals in Latin America.

The program has mobilized Tigo mentors to connect with young people to inspire and direct them to internship, training and employment opportunities. It generates hope and increases a sense of community pride, harnessing the potential of the region's youth to bring about positive change in their communities.

The El Salvador program has been implemented in three cohorts, with the support of 15 mentors and benefiting 150 young people.
