El Salvador holds job fair for young people in the English to Connect program

This wednesday, the Ministry of Economy, together with strategic partners, held a job fair aimed at participants of the third edition of the English to Connect (E2C) program, who received their diploma this day.

This program is an initiative of the institution, with the objective of training more than 1,000 people in the mastery of the English language at pre-intermediate or intermediate level, so that they can climb to a level of B1 and B2, according to the Marco Común Europeo de Referencia (MCER).

"This started as a dream, and that dream was transferred to a project in which 100 young people were trained, the vast majority were hired and now we have reached 1,000 young people", said the Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem.

Nine call centers participated in the fair, with job opportunities for people who were trained in the E2C, according to data from the institution, more than 700 salvadorans reached the level of english required by this industry, thus generating the conditions to be able to access job opportunities.

The E2C project is part of the Talento Tech program, the participants received a training process for 240 hours, to generate and strengthen the competencies and skills required in the labor market.

"I am more than excited to be at this closing of the English To Connect program; but also, at the beginning of a job search and a professional opportunity, which will change your lives”, Hayem said.

The Government of El Salvador works with the strategic vision of betting on training that allows young people to awaken their potential and thus have a quick insertion into the labor market that generates a better quality of life.
