Between january 1 to february 29, 2024, the air terminals have handled approximately 869,000 arriving, departing and connecting passengers, which has represented an increase of 43% compared to 2023, informed the President of the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA), Federico Anliker.

Likewise, with respect to the arrival of commercial passenger flights, in the first two months, more than 7,600 commercial passenger flight operations have been attended, registering an increase of 29% compared to the same period in 2023.

The autonomous agency informed that the flights came from the United States, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, among other countries of the world, which shows that the salvadoran air terminal has experienced a positive variation, surpassing the figures of previous years.

In previous dates, Anliker explained that the number of travelers and flight operations is a sign of the post-pandemic recovery that El Salvador is experiencing, and it is thanks to the vision and management implemented by President Nayib Bukele.

"El Salvador has positioned itself in a different way, especially as a world-class tourist destination, thanks to the security and tourism strategy; among other actions developed by our government, such as Surf", he said.

Currently 14 airlines operate at the airport, connecting El Salvador with more than 30 destinations in 13 countries.
