CEL and DGEHM carry out mapping to complete 100% of national energy coverage

Written by Evelyn Alas

The Comisión Ejecutiva Hidroeléctrica del Río Lempa (CEL), together with the Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM), will soon launch the Universal Electricity Access Program in El Salvador, which will bring electricity to communities that have never had it.

Through a modern geographic information system, they will identify the areas that currently do not have electricity.

In addition, CEL has identified areas where they can extend the national power grid or look for other local renewable generation alternatives so that Salvadorans have 24/7 electricity.
