The inspection brigade examined the minimum safety specifications of the cylinders to ensure that salvadorans have access to quality products and thus avoid incidents at the time of distribution to end users. The capacity of the containers analyzed ranged between 25 and 35 pounds.
The selected sample is equivalent to 147 cylinders, which were checked for dents on the exterior and for the tare to comply with the manufacturer's specifications. In addition, technical tests will be carried out to certify that aspects such as sheet thickness, volumetric capacity and pressure of each cylinder comply with Reglamentos Técnicos Centroamericanos (RTCA).
At the end of the day, the inspectors concluded that the cylinders were found to have acceptable tare values and that the analyzed containers comply with the necessary aspects to enter circulation in the domestic market.
The DGEHM, as the entity in charge of the regulation and distribution of petroleum derivatives, will be carrying out inspection days at national level; in this way it is verified that, at each point of sale, whether a small store or a large distributor, only gas cylinders that comply with safety standards are marketed; guaranteeing the welfare and peace of mind of homes and businesses in El Salvador.
