DGEHM finds water in a fuel tank

The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) informed through social networks that it found water in a tank where regular gasoline was stored at the service station located in Los Próceres, in San Salvador.

According to the information provided by the DGEHM the water covered half an inch of the tank.

"The managers of the service station presented the maintenance report on the work done to extract the water from the tank, while, our team proceeded to perform the verification with a measuring rod and revealing paste", indicated the Directorate.

DGEHM teams are carrying out daily inspections to ensure that gas stations do not violate consumers' rights.

Only in the first quarter of 2024, 1,446 inspections have been carried out with a total of 129 findings, among which are mentioned the lack of price signs for the consumer, lack of reporting sales prices to our Directorate and that water has been found in storage tanks.
