The Cayos Cochinos Marine Sanctuary is a group of islands, formed by Cayo Mayor and Cayo Menor, plus 13 smaller keys of coral origin, located 30 kilometers northeast of La Ceiba, on the north coast of Honduras.

The cays have a flora and fauna more closely linked to the mainland with the islands of the bay. They are surrounded by sandy beaches, ideal for nesting Hawksbill sea turtles.

Among its terrestrial fauna, the Cochinos Cays Boa is famous, distinguished by its pink coloration. The vegetation of both keys is shrubby and in an excellent state of conservation.

These keys are also famous for their abundant fishing. Their coral reefs are modest and do not form a continuous barrier around the keys.
