Legislative Assembly's Finance Committee allocates US$13 million for the San Miguel Bypass

The Finance Committee of the Legislative Assembly held a session to analyze several budget reallocations for the fiscal year 2023, in order to be able to carry out projects in the agriculture, security and safety sectors.

During the meeting, a proposal to support agriculture in the country was read, and the Ministerio de Hacienda requested that the Ministry of Agronomy be supported with a US$2 million budget reinforcement to benefit producers affected by storm Julia.

The Ministerio de Obras Públicas y de Transporte (MOPT), requested the approval of the Commission to reinforce its budget with US$13,240,051 from the Japan Cooperation Agency to finance the construction of the San Miguel Bypass, which was approved.

The deputies also gave their approval to allocate more than US$ 25 million for police officers to finance their food during the period from august to december, in order to benefit 27,072 security workers and thus continue providing their services.

"Our commitment is to support the security forces, it is the least we can do for the work that the blue heroes are doing in the territory, who expose their lives to provide peace of mind to the citizens", congressman Christian Guevara during the session.

The Ministerio de Hacienda, thanks to its efficiency in tax collection and its fight against money laundering, has managed to obtain US$ 11 million, to be allocated to reinforce the operation of the Presidency of the Republic.
