AES El Salvador and Blink Charging made available to users of electric vehicles a new charging point at Kreef restaurant, located on La Mascota street, San Salvador. In this way, as the electric vehicle fleet grows, the company will be able to interconnect cities with strategic charging points, thus promoting environmentally friendly mobility.

AES El Salvador, through its División Soluciones, informed that at present the following gas stations are available to users: Texaco La Skina and Texaco Juan Pablo, located in Santa Tecla and San Salvador, respectively. There is also an electrolinera of public access at the Courtyard Hotel, of the Marriott chain, located in the shopping center La Gran Vía, in the municipality of Antiguo Cuscatlán, La Libertad.  In addition, two new charging points were recently opened in the Mall del Sol shopping malls in the departments of Chalatenango and Usulután.

Abraham Bichara, CEO of AES El Salvador, said: "We are committed to implement innovation in our operations and provide the country with technologies that allow us to achieve a more sustainable energy future. That is why electric mobility is one of the most important strategic bets for AES El Salvador".

According to the energy company, all the stations of the AES/Blink partnership operate under the self-service model, using the Blink Charging Mobile application, with which users can create a profile to charge the battery of their electric vehicle.

"One of the main challenges of implementing electromobility in El Salvador is the coverage of charging points for electric vehicles. Together with Blink and our strategic partners, we are working to provide an innovative solution to accelerate the introduction of sustainable mobility in the country", said Roberto Sandoval, general manager of the División Soluciones de AES El Salvador.

AES and its strategic allies will continue to work together in the installation of more charging points to connect more than 325 kilometers of roads, guaranteeing drivers greater peace of mind on long trips in the interior of the country.

With these actions, AES El Salvador continues to develop its commitment to transportation with zero emissions of polluting gases, the reduction of noise pollution, and the reduction of hazardous and polluting waste, to continue accelerating the future of energy.

AES El Salvador's commitment to electromobility

Currently, AES has a network of charging stations for its electric vehicles installed both within its operating plants, as well as the new network of commercial chargers in alliance with Blink in locations of strategic partners. In addition, 21 electric vehicles have been added to the operating fleet of its distribution companies to date. By the end of 2023, AES plans to have 23 electric vehicles in its fleet, in addition to continuing to expand the network of charging points in public access locations.
