Aeropuerto de Ilopango will be able to receive 40,000 people per year

The Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA), inaugurated the new passenger terminal at the Aeropuerto Internacional de Ilopango.

The new air terminal has an investment of more than US$684,000. The work triples the installed capacity, raising its level of service, safety standards, and capacity to serve 40,000 users per year.

"We now have modern, comfortable facilities, with an executive approach to receive investors, business passengers, tourists and nationals visiting El Salvador for different activities", said Federico Anliker, head of CEPA.

New offices were built in the new air terminal for the Dirección General de Aduanas, Dirección de Migración y Extranjería, the Policía Nacional Civil and the Oficina Sanitaria Internacional; there is also a modern waiting room, an enlarged parking area for 120 vehicles, new electrical and air conditioning systems, a fire detection and video surveillance system.

The authorities emphasized that with the new investment it will be possible to attract more investors and businessmen to settle in the country.
