Defensoría makes "910" complaint center available to consumers

The Defensoría del Consumidor (DC), which has made available its call center and WhatsApp to receive complaints about unjustified price increases in seasonal products, especially food.

The assistants at the "910" call center will attend to the public this tuesday, december 27, between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm, confirmed the institution.

While on WhatsApp 7844-1482, complaints will be attended all the rest of the week, until next friday, between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.

"The Defensoría del Consumidor continues with an unprecedented effort. We are working to prevent abuses against the population", said the president of the DC, Ricardo Salazar.

The official explained that the main municipal markets of San Salvador and the interior of the country are sufficiently supplied, so there is no excuse to increase prices, claiming shortage of seasonal food products.

Other markets such as supermarkets also have enough products such as vegetables, seasonal meats and fruits, so there is no reason to increase the price of these.

He also indicated that the teams of the Defensoría remain deployed in the main cities of greater San Salvador and the interior of the country, in order to continue protecting the domestic economy of salvadorans, through the execution of price surveys and periodic reviews to corroborate the safety and expiration dates of food.
