The Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), indicated that compared to 2019, this 2021 the percentage of tourists traveling to El Salvador from the U.S. for the Thanksgiving holiday, is 51% more, data that was provided by ForwardKeys, a company that provides information to tourism organizations interested in knowing who travels where, when and for how long.

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada, as well as in some Caribbean islands, Liberia and by U.S. and Canadian immigrant communities in Mexico, Central America and Israel.

Thanksgiving is the name given to the day traditionally dedicated to express gratitude to God. As such, it is an annual holiday, celebrated on the fourth thursday of november in the United States, and on the second monday of october in Canada.

Likewise, the Ministry of Immigration and Foreign Affairs informed through its twitter account that they are already prepared to receive all visiting travelers with an efficient, safe and orderly immigration service.

The Ministry said that they have anticipated the high season, incorporating new immigration officers and administrative staff at the borders and branches, in order to strengthen the capacity to meet the demand for services that increases at Christmas and New Year's Eve.

If you are about to visit El Salvador, you should take into account that now you can enter the country without the need to present your vaccination card or PCR or antigen test, as long as you keep all the biosecurity measures, such as using your mask correctly, and using alcohol gel.
