The President of the Administración Nacional de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (ANDA), Rubén Alemán, and the President of the Fondo de Saneamiento y Fortalecimiento Financiero (FOSAFFI), Patricia Guevara, signed an inter-institutional agreement for aqueducts and sewers to properties to residents who have financial support.

As of this day and for the next 60 days ANDA will forgive 100% of the surcharges for non-payment and late interest on the loan of drinking water service, at special times in all commercial agencies.

The agreement will serve to help low-income families so that when they acquire a property they can obtain water service whenever, they need it and without inconveniences.

"This agreement will allow all people to obtain their legal status as ANDA users and clients", said ANDA's President, Rubén Alemán.

The ANDA official said that people will be able to take advantage of a transitory decree that will allow access to a remission for the non-payment of drinking water and they will also be able to make deferred payments to have access to the service.

Additionally, the ANDA leader expressed that the agreement will enter into force immediately and will allow the applicants of the potable water service to have access to reconnection for their use, and that they do not have outstanding balances.

The President of FOSAFFI indicated that this instrument will benefit 200 families in the San Francisco housing complex in Chalchuapa, in the community of Las Cañas in Apopa.
