CEL teams performed the transformer replacement

Today, the teams of the Central Hidroelectrica del Rio Lempa (CEL) replaced the power transformer of unit number 3 of the Central Hidroelectrica 5 de Noviembre.

This change is necessary due to the fact that analyses performed on the batteries of all the hydroelectric power plants revealed that the transformer has already reached its useful life, after 12 years in operation.

A transformer in optimal conditions ensures the efficiency of energy generation and contributes to the stability of the electricity supply in our country.

This change is part of the Annual Maintenance Plan 2024.

In the third quarter of the year there was a 109.3% growth in electricity exports to the Central American region, which is equivalent to US$59.2 million.

This growth is due to the different projects that have been carried out in the country in order to develop the energy matrix.
