In the framework of World Recycling Day, Movistar El Salvador announces a new alliance with private companies, unions and other organizations, which will work for the protection of the environment, through the good management of cell phones and their accessories in disuse with the "Cambiá a Verde" Program, seeking to generate a high impact on society and betting on the care of nature, innovation and sustainability, for the benefit of salvadorans.

"Cambiá a Verde" focuses mainly on the recycling of unused cell phones and accessories and other waste devices, promoting the circular economy and raising awareness among people about the proper handling of these when they reach the end of their useful life. The program is active in 23 Movistar stores throughout the country.

Salvadorans will be able to recycle their phones and accessories such as phone batteries, chargers and small headphones by approaching any of the participating Movistar stores, as well as other types of electrical and electronic equipment in different spaces that will be communicated soon on social networks, thanks to our allies.

In the implementation of the recycling program, we have incorporated allies that share the same work ethic regarding environmental protection and its impact on salvadoran society.

A green alliance has been created, made up of DELSUR, AmCham, Zartex, FUNDEMAS, Ternova, Banco Atlántida and the Centro Nacional de Producción más Limpia (CNPML).

"This green alliance between Movistar and the aforementioned organizations demonstrates the commitment we have for the protection of the environment and the reduction of pollution. We are interested in a direct impact on the lives of salvadorans and it is with the recycling of electronics that we will achieve it. We invite more organizations to join us", said Eduardo Solórzano, director of Corporate Affairs of Movistar El Salvador.

Each partner will work on different actions that will join efforts to collect tons of electronic waste that after being recycled, will be translated into actions that benefit the salvadoran society.

"Cambiá a Verde" seeks to contribute to the strengthening of citizen participation in environmental issues through the collection, education and sensitization of Salvadorans on the best procedures for the treatment of electronic waste.
