Final day of the Sustainability and CSR Week 2023 dedicated to: Equality and Inclusive Economic Growth

The country's main sustainability and CSR event will end on thursday, october 12, with its third and final day. The theme of this day will focus on supporting companies in the development of governance strategies and equal opportunities for women.

The Fundación Empresarial para la Acción Social, FUNDEMAS, continues with the Sustainability and CSR Week 2023, this thursday, october 12. The final day consisted of: "Equality and Inclusive Economic Growth".

Sustainability and CSR Week 2023, which will be the eleventh edition. Since its inception in 2013, Sustainability and CSR Week has sought to share global trends in CSR and sustainability at the local level, articulate business efforts with civil society initiatives and institutions, and raise public awareness of the importance of sustainability in the country's progress.

The 2023 edition of the Sustainability and CSR Week has as its global focus: "Trends that will mark the business agenda", where current issues will be addressed in the global business world, such as: Climate change, Environmental, Social and Governance metrics, employability, gender equality, among others.

This event seeks to contribute to the generation of a sustainable business environment through:

  • Developing a meeting of companies and organizations that work for sustainability today, for the construction of a better country and society of tomorrow,
  • Inspire current and future leaders to be part of the change that the country needs,
  • To address the main trends, benefits and opportunities for companies in terms of sustainability, for the economic, social and environmental development of the country, as well as for the competitiveness of organizations.

Since its first edition, the event has had the participation of more than 20,000 attendees, more than 300 speakers and more than 300 allied companies, including salvadoran companies, foundations, trade associations, media and international cooperation agencies.

Among the topics that have been addressed in previous editions of Sustainability and CSR Week, since 2013, are: dialogue, innovation for sustainability, Sustainable Development Goals, violence prevention, among others.

Since the first edition, Sustainability and CSR Week has supported salvadoran companies to consolidate their sustainability and CSR strategy, with relevant results such as:

  • Knowledge about Sustainability has grown among Salvadoran companies, just as the adoption of responsible business practices in the different areas of application has evolved positively.
  • Sustainability strategies have been consolidated in companies such as: development of ethical culture and governance, circular economy programs, workforce programs, gender equality, community investment, among others.
  • Many companies have integrated sustainability and CSR strategies throughout their value chain, including suppliers, distributors, etc.

About the day on thursday, october 12:

  • The main theme of this day was "Equality and inclusive economic growth".
  • Experts from Peru, Guatemala and Honduras participated in the event. In addition, topics such as "Governance is a success factor for companies and organizations today" were highlighted, as well as the importance of business strategies for equality as a key aspect of any organization.
  • Examples of companies of great trajectory and renown in the country were presented, such as: WALMART DE MÉXICO Y CENTROAMÉRICA, LA CONSTANCIA, DELSUR, TIGO, ASESUISA, NESTLÉ, MOVISTAR and PRODUCTOS ALIMENTICIOS DIANA.
