The Salvadoran labor force continues to position itself in companies in the United States, thanks to the Labor Mobility Program promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Thus, more than one hundred and eighty Salvadorans, beneficiaries of the Labor Mobility Program, will travel to the states of Alaska, Colorado, North Dakota, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Montana, Texas, Tennessee and Virginia, where they will work in companies on a temporary basis.

This group of workers will work in the areas of fish processing, maintenance, hotel cleaning, cooking, construction and gardening for a period of approximately four to eight months.

This initiative, which is aligned with the objectives of the Central Government, aims to facilitate employability opportunities for the Salvadoran population; and to provide circular migration options, allowing nationals to move to other territories in a regular, safe and orderly manner, and return to El Salvador in the same way.

To date, this initiative has benefited more than 6 thousand nationals who have provided their services to different U.S. companies, in various productive areas.

As part of the process to be followed, the beneficiaries participated in an informative talk where they were given relevant details about their stay and work commitments.
