More than 10 thousand farmers from Tacuba and Ahuachapán receive agricultural packages

Written by Evelyn Alas

The delivery of agricultural packages continues in the west of the country, and thousands of small producers of basic grains are grateful for the support of the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería which joins efforts with municipalities and other government institutions to increase national production and ensure food security.

In the municipalities of Tacuba and Ahuachapán, more than 10,000 farmers have benefited, and thousands of them already have their inputs, since the process is faster and more efficient, thanks to the articulated work and the digitalization of searches and signatures.

More than half a million salvadorans will be supported with the Agricultural Packages, which include 25 pounds of certified corn seed, a liter of foliar fertilizer, a quintal of 15-15-15 formula and seed treatment.

These inputs represent a great saving, since due to global inflation, raw material prices have increased.

Faced with this problem, but with the determination to continue supporting production, the Legislative Assembly this week approved a budget increase for the Agricultural and Livestock portfolio.

The young producer, Sandra Yanira Saldaña, joined in the joy of the production sector and not for nothing, because now it was the first time that she has been favored. "I feel happy because I have received the Agricultural Package, since it is the first time I have received it. It is a good thing about the reinforcement, because one who cultivates and has scarce resources needs this help, especially now that the fertilizer is very expensive", she said.

The inputs not only benefit those who cultivate the land, but also the population in general, since the farmers sell the surplus of their harvest, which now becomes more abundant because they use Good Agricultural Practices.
