Usulután farmers continue to withdraw their agricultural packages for grain planting

Written by Evelyn Alas

Farmers from Mercedes Umaña, Berlín, Santa Elena, Jucuarán, Jucuapa and Jiquilisco are withdrawing their Agricultural Packages in order to start planting grains; in addition, farmers receive technical assistance to ensure the proper use of inputs and to motivate beneficiaries to apply Buenas Prácticas Agrícolas (BPA).

Reinaldo Campos, a farmer from Berlín, also withdrew his inputs in a fast and agile way, thanks to the digitalization of signatures and fingerprints for the process. Campos agrees on the importance of implementing BPA to increase yields and be more resilient in grain production.

Technical assistance is provided by specialists from the Centro Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria y Forestal (CENTA), Instituto Salvadoreño de Transformación Agraria (ISTA and students from the Escuela Nacional de Agricultura (ENA).

The delivery of the agricultural baskets continues this week in the departments of the paracentral zone and Usulután, and will soon conclude in the other three departments of the eastern zone, which is the last to be sown, because it is where the rainy season is established normally between august and september.

Once the beneficiary producer knows in which warehouse and on which day he/she must pick up the inputs, he/she must attend from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is important to reiterate that the inputs of the Agricultural Packages should not be traded and are for planting use only.

We recommend producers to verify the day and the warehouse where they should pick up the inputs, they can do it through the online system https://paquetesagricolas.mag.gob.sv or through the call center 2210-1714 or the mail This email address is being protected from spambots.
