The minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, indicated that the projection to december 2021 was US$800 million in foreign exchange; however, as of september 2021, US$1,126.1 million had already been achieved; meanwhile, visitors, between january and september, reached 888,742.

Minister Valdez also highlighted that these favorable numbers support the fact that the country has become a safe destination to travel and live in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are one of the countries that lead the region in terms of travel and arrivals", he said and added that this is supported by the Forwardkeys portal, analyst of the volume of operation of the air sector, which in the same month reported that the arrival of tourists by air grew 26% in El Salvador.

This without forgetting that the country hosted the Pre-Olympic Surfing Games, the first in the midst of a pandemic and attended by representatives of more than 50 nations, gathering more than 1,500 people; it also has a low-cost airline of national flag, and in the coming days will host congresses for the bitcoin.

"One of the things in favor is the good management of the pandemic. We are leaders in vaccination against Covid-19, which counts for a visitor when choosing their destination right now", she said.

"We have many options and many things to do, and live different experiences in the country", the official concluded.
