This increase of visitors generated more than US$90 million in foreign exchange for the country, due to the tourism strategy implemented by the Ministerio de Turismo together with other institutions of the Central Government.

Domestic and foreign tourists were able to enjoy the range of proposals between beach, mountain, recreational parks and others.

The beaches were among the most visited sites during the august vacations, especially those of La Libertad. In second place was the Historic Center of San Salvador and in third place the Ruta de las Flores.

According to statistics, MITUR is contributing 10% to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from the tourism sector up to July of this year.

For the Central Government, the first months of this year have been important in the growth of the sector, this has allowed the entry of visitors to increase, and impact on foreign exchange, respectively, said the head of the industry.

In addition to the strengthening of tourist centers, the Government is promoting a security strategy that increases the attraction to visit the lands of Cuscatlán, yielding historical figures.
