Foreign Ministry facilitates labor reinsertion option for returned migrants and migrants at risk of migration

As part of the inter-institutional agreement with the Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales (ASI) and the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the closing of the training sessions in the area of commerce for returned migrants and those at risk of migrating.

In this space, the Director of Human Mobility and Attention to Migrants, Rosa Girón, stated that this training has trained and strengthened the labor skills of a group of returnees in the areas of commercial cashier and warehouse manager, thus contributing to their reintegration and incorporation into productive life through a sustainable and comprehensive process.

The companies where recent graduates will have the opportunity to apply for a position are Grupo San Nicolás (Farmacias San Nicolás); Banco Cuscatlán; Grupo Probe: Vidal's, Disprobe, Intrade, Moto Action, Sento Luxury Spa & Salon, Tbs Beautysupply; Moto City: Repuestos, Talleres, Motocicletas and Carvajal Empaque.

"This initiative allows us to ensure the development of our population, therefore, we must articulate all possible efforts to generate opportunities in the country, allowing people to fulfill their aspirations of life in their land", said the official.

She also emphasized that this project was implemented through an innovative and effective strategy called FOME (Training Tailored to the Company), through which a learning curriculum is created from a participatory approach with the companies and in which it is intended to employ the people trained, generating a greater possibility of being placed immediately.

"This initiative has a pan-social and intersectoral approach with which we work through the Transforming Lives Program, seeks to support returnees in their sustainable and comprehensive reintegration process", said the official.

He also thanked the ASI, the GIZ and the Secretaría de la Integración Social Centroamericana (SISCA), entities with which this training effort for returnees and people at risk of migrating was articulated.

"We are pleased to have worked hand in hand with strategic allies in the creation of opportunities in their territories. This alliance and the synergy we have achieved has been very satisfactory", said the Foreign Ministry representative.

The executive director of the ASI, Jorge Arriaza, highlighted the importance of these training sessions, the objective of which is to provide knowledge to people who contribute to national development.

"It is an excellent work promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for returned migrants. The effort, work and dedication belong to the participants and for us it is a source of pride", said the ASI representative.

Meanwhile, Noel Alfredo Rodríguez, one of the beneficiaries of the program thanked the Foreign Ministry and the entities that facilitated his specialized training. "We want to show all the salvadoran people that it is not necessary to leave our country to achieve our goals and ideals. Here there are good opportunities in El Salvador and I am not moving from here", he said.

Officials from the Secretariat for Central American Integration, the ASI, the GIZ and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated in this activity, as well as special guests.
