Mauricio Ramos, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Millicom (Tigo), appointed Co-Chairman of Partnership for Central America (PCA)

Partnership for Central America (PCA) announced the appointment of Mauricio Ramos, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Millicom (Tigo), as the new Co-Chair of PCA.

"Mauricio brings a wealth of experience, dedication and unmatched knowledge of the region to the Partnership's Board of Directors. We are honored and fortunate to have him to lead PCA's outstanding Board of Directors in this next stage of growth and to continue the unprecedented progress of the last two years", said PCA.

During PCA's strategic dialogue, in which U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and guatemalan President Bernardo Arevalo participated, the Vice President welcomed Ramos as PCA Co-Chair. Dr. Philip Gordon, National Security Advisor to the Vice President, highlighted Ramos' exceptional qualities, underscoring his vast business experience that has had a significant economic impact in Central America, as well as his strong commitment to social causes throughout the Americas.

Commitment to the region

Millicom thus reaffirms its commitment to have responded to the call to action by Vice President Kamala Harris, launched in may 2021. One of the main goals is to strengthen and expand fixed and mobile broadband networks in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, thus contributing to economic growth and greater connectivity in these markets. As an active member of the PCA, the telecommunications company focuses on collaborating in areas such as digital inclusion programs and educational tools. The goal is to boost development and improve the quality of life of more than 15 million people throughout the region.
