Today, the Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales (ASI) inaugurated the fourth edition of the Congreso Regional de Sostenibilidad Ambiental, CRESA which this year is called: "Transforming the challenges of today for sustainable industries of tomorrow", in which experiences, best practices, trends and visions on Industrial Sustainability, Circular Economy, Climate Change and Water Resource Management will be analyzed, deepened and shared.

 

 

Climate change has been one of the main generators of economic problems in El Salvador leaving losses of approximately US$2,200 million, which is why it is important to create spaces to show the impact of sustainability resources that companies are implementing to avoid further losses.

During the opening presentation, different points of view were shared on the importance of promoting and implementing environmental measures both in the business sector and in society in general, to avoid economic impacts on Salvadoran industry due to climate change and meteorological disasters.

The Congreso Regional de Sostenibilidad aims to develop sustainable management, circular economy with emphasis on water resources and green finance. Likewise, the main topics to be developed are focused on industrial sustainability, regional sustainability, the use of water resources, green entrepreneurship, among others.

National and international specialists and experts will participate in the Congress, and government officials will also be present to address issues that have an impact on the country.

Among the international and national experts that will be part of CRESA are: Paul Kohl, from the Water Department of Philadelphia, USA. who will present Technologies for the development of the circular economy of water in industrial processes; Agata Krause Expert in sustainable urban development for UN Habitat, with the topic: Fulfilling the 2030 Agenda through a Voluntary Local Report (VLR); Evelyn Amaro, representative of Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office UK, who will talk about Climate Diplomacy and the green agenda for Latin America; Diego Recalde representative of FAO in El Salvador, with the presentation: The effect of climate change on agriculture in the Central American Dry Corridor, and other speakers.

CRESA proposes the support of businesses, government, and society in general to promote environmental sustainability in the country to ensure the future of the nation.
