Corn and beans were the grains with the greatest losses in the 2023-2024 agricultural cycle, since all the adversities for the sector came together, such as: the high cost of inputs, labor shortages, the cost of land rental doubled, and natural phenomena that generated losses of more than US$82 million.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the World Food Program (WFP), gave more than 4,300 small farmers in the country an insurance policy, which will be effective in case weather problems affect their crops.

In El Salvador, small businesses were affected due to the global fall of social networks, many of them sell or offer their products through WhatsApp, Marketplace, Messenger or Instagram.
