CONAMYPE and KOICA to invest US$6 million in Innovation Center for MSMEs

The President of the Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE), Paul Steiner, said in a morning interview that the institution will launch the first innovation center for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) by the end of 2022, with an investment of US$6.6 million thanks to the support of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

Steiner mentioned that, through the Fondo de Inversión Para la Innovación, Calidad y Productividad (FECAMYPE), they are promoting innovative projects, when other institutions do not lend to salvadoran entrepreneurs, the institution does.

The drones that will be used in the innovation center, will be used for mapping by the MSEs, to know the terrain, where the machinery will circulate, where they can cultivate and what part of the land can be used in other activities.

He also mentioned that CONAMYPE supports the entrepreneurs from the moment the business is a simple idea, until it becomes an exporting MSE and becomes a medium-sized company. He also said that new lines of credit will be announced soon.

In addition, he said that, in addition to granting the funds, they will be providing technical support and specialized advice to improve their project.

With the Training and Cosmetic Production Center, they seek to provide inputs to the entrepreneurs of machinery and facilities to manufacture their products.
