The president of the Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE)Paul Steiner, presented a piece of correspondence to reform the Ley de Fomento de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (MYPE) before the Economy Commission.

The purpose of the reform is to improve the mechanism for the operation of the funds destined for Emprendimiento y Capital de Trabajo (FECAMYPE) and the Programa de Garantía para la Micro y Pequeña Empresa.

The official also explains that the lines of action are aimed at stimulating micro and small enterprises and making the application of CONAMYPE's US$10 million budget more efficient.

"With these modifications we seek to improve the mechanisms that will allow us to provide greater liquidity to MSEs”, said, the president of CONAMYPE.

"CONAMYPE has the responsibility to create trusts with the Banco Hipotecario de El Salvador and work through financial intermediaries to be able to do so. That means we can set up those mechanisms to ensure that loans reach small businesses”, he said.

Prior to presenting the initiative, the deputies of Nuevas Ideas received the representative of CONAMYPE, who said that it is intended to stimulate Micro and Small Enterprises in the development of their competitive capacities, for their participation in the national and international market.
