Based on the special provisions regarding tax incentives for projects related to the engineering study of dredging and start-up equipment for the Puerto de la Unión, tax exemptions would be granted during the execution of the work. The beneficiaries of the measure would be the Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transporte, natural and legal persons, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.

The beneficiaries will be exempted from all payments of the tax on the transfer of real estate and the provision of services VAT, import duties DAI, and taxes levied on the definitive importation of machinery, equipment, tools, materials, spare parts, accessories, utensils and other goods and customs duties and taxes related to acquisitions, contracts.

Municipal taxes and Centro Nacional de Registro will also be omitted as long as they are to be paid for the mentioned projects or programs. Applicants must be involved in the supervision, planning, design and construction of projects related to the engineering study of dredging equipment and its commissioning for the Port of La Union.

This from the signing of the respective contracts until the reception of the work or the end of the contract with the Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transporte in any of its forms. It should be clarified that those awarded the decree must be solvent of the payment of the Instituto Salvadoreño del Seguro Social and the different pension fund administrators, of the contributions made by the employer, of the contributions and withholdings made to its workers, as well as comply with the obligations arising from the contract within the terms and conditions stipulated therein.
