Among the activities that contributed to the growth of the IVAE were: construction 10.6%, financial services 9.6%, professional and technical activities 8.2%, industrial production 5.2%, government services 5.0%, and real estate activities 2.8%.
The IVAE measures the evolution of the economic activity of the different industries included in the calculation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
This indicator registered a variation of 3.9% in april of this year when compared to the same month of the previous year (year-over-year variation). This result is higher than the 2.1% recorded twelve months ago.
Likewise, the IVAE, as a short-term indicator, does not measure the Gross Domestic Product, but its main objective is to indicate the inter-annual trajectory of the productive activity, and thus provide signals to the economic agents on the trend-cycle of the economic activity and its changes.
The Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador (BCR) calculates the seasonally adjusted series to isolate seasonal effects.
