Salvadorans in arrears with ANDA have until march 30 to pay without surcharges

Salvadorans who have debts with the Administración Nacional de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (ANDA), still have until march 23rd to benefit with 40% of the cancellation of arrears and surcharges of their debt, and thus, bring their account with the institution up to date.

A transitory decree approved by the Legislative Assembly in september 2021, at the request of the Executive, favors thousands of people to access payment plans to settle their debt and allow ANDA to recover funds to develop projects and continue improving the supply of drinking water.

To date, the institution has been able to recover around US$5 million. With the aforementioned decree, users can make immediate full payment or access authorized payment plans that will not exceed 12 consecutive months.

They must also pay an initial premium equivalent to 10% of the debt. Some 19 thousand users have regularized their accounts thanks to the decree, which initially allowed them to pay their debts without arrears or surcharges and now provides a 40% discount.

In addition, the regulation has allowed ANDA to cross-check its debts with the municipalities, since this has meant a financial reorganization that was necessary for the autonomous company.

Individuals or institutions wishing to take advantage of this important benefit can visit any of the 22 agencies throughout the country or make inquiries through the call center 915 or OSAGUA WhatsApp 7838-1462.
