The tax collection goal for 2022 is US$2.5 billion

The minister of Finance, Alejandro Zelaya, informed salvadorans that the institution expects to collect US$2.5 billion in Income Tax (ISR), and in terms of refunds it could be around US$35 to 40 million.

Likewise, the official said that in march he will present 20 initiatives to the Legislative Assembly, among them, reforms to the stock exchange, investment protection, immigration benefits for investors and Bitcoin bonds.

Salvadorans can now file their income tax returns online

The Income Tax declaration is a mandatory procedure for taxpayers, in 2022, this procedure can now be done by individuals and legal entities according to the law.

They have until april 30 to carry out the process, which must be submitted on time, with complete information, otherwise the citizen could be subject to a fine.

According to the Ministry of Finance, this process is being carried out online. In order to fill out the form, the population must go to: www.mh.gob.sv , select the section "Declare your income here", enter your Documento Único de Identidad (DUI) and click on enter, choose the option F11-Income Tax and Special Contribution Declaration.

You must verify that your income coincides with your tax records and if your return presents a refund, you must choose to have it deposited in your bank account or in cash and click on "file return".
