The Ministerio de Economía (MINEC), informs salvadorans that fuel prices will increase US$0.21 and US$0.17, effective from february 8 to 21, 2022.

Salvadorans who purchase superior gasoline, in the central, western and eastern zones, will see an increase of US$0.19 with a suggested price of US$4.25 and US$4.21.

Regular gasoline will present an increase of US$0.17 in the central, western and eastern zones, with a suggested price of US$4.11 and US$4.07.

As for diesel, the increase will be US$0.21 for the central and western zones, and US$0.20 for the eastern zone, with a recommended price of US$3.89 and US$3.85.

The best option so that your pocket is not affected is to fill up your vehicle's tank today, at the gas station that offers the prices that suit your needs.

In addition, fuel expert, Julio Villagrán, informed through his twitter account that for each gallon of super gasoline salvadorans pay US$0.86 in taxes, in regular US$0.85 and in diesel US$0.68.

Also, you may consider using less air conditioning, it is one of the non-essential systems for the operation of the vehicle, it is the one that consumes more energy and fuel, as it works thanks to the engine.

Some of the changes in fuel costs are due to external factors such as low oil production due to cold temperatures and the gradual production increase plan of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which does not meet demand.
