MAG signs international agreement to improve agricultural production and development

The Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG), signed an international agreement to guarantee technological improvement, technical assistance and scientific research, with the objective of improving agricultural production and development.

The agreement was signed by the minister of Agriculture, David Martínez, and the executive director of the spanish company Kimitec Group, Alejandro de las Casas.

According to MAG Minister, David Martínez, the agreement will help El Salvador to have a productive, natural and sustainable agriculture in the Central American and Caribbean region.

"This moment is important for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, but also for the history of agriculture. Kimitec has one of the most amazing research centers in the world", said MAG minister David Martinez.

The official emphasized that despite the fact that El Salvador is a small country, it is possible to have intensive crops that allow changing the economic, productive and agricultural reality of the country.

For the executive director of Kimitec Group, this agreement is "an ambitious challenge". "We have the largest innovation and biotechnology center to make agriculture more productive and sustainable. Our goal is to make El Salvador a benchmark in sustainable production".

Also present at the activity was the general director of the la Agencia de El Salvador para la Cooperación Internacional (ESCO) Karla de Palma, who pointed out that "we facilitate the processes to ensure that international cooperation knows the effort we are making. We know that Kimitec Group will play a role in promoting the modernization of the Ministry of Agriculture.
