El Salvador reiterates commitment to the development of the region at the VIII Summit of Heads of State and Government of CELAC Courtesy

El Salvador was present at the VIII Cumbre de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (CELAC), which took place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic, Adriana Mira was the representative of the nation in this meeting.

The event brought together leaders of the region to discuss issues of shared interest, as well as to address current challenges in order to overcome them.

The representative of El Salvador shared the different economic challenges and how these have been overcome, while pointing out how the country has experienced greater economic growth, a better climate for investment and business, and tourism development, due to new security regulations.

Thus, during her speech, Vice Minister Mira reiterated that the country is convinced that regional spaces constitute platforms that allow the approach as a bloc to address the multiple current challenges and allows an approach to new projects that intervene in the development of the nation.

She added that El Salvador firmly believes in the importance of contributing jointly in the construction of a renewed multilateralism, where "mutual respect and equality of conditions for all nations" prevail.
