One of the problems that CAMPO members requested a solution to is the search for a comprehensive solution for those who have outstanding debts with the ISTA, which according to members of the organization is requesting the funds borrowed in full since last year.

"We are presenting a piece of correspondence to revive decree 263 which consisted of a 90% cancellation of the agrarian debt. This decree was made in 2004 and was in effect until 3 years ago and the problem we have is that currently, the ISTA is collecting 100% of the agrarian debt", mentioned Luis Treminio, head of CAMPO.

In addition, according to the head of CAMPO, there is legal uncertainty with the land tenure of those who did manage to pay their debt on time with ISTA because the institution has not delivered deeds of land ownership to these people. CAMPO members hope that the deputies will help them solve this problem.

Treminio mentioned in another topic that there is a loss of one million quintals of basic grains in 2023, due to the different climatic phenomena that El Salvador has experienced in the last days and there will be a deficit of almost 5 million quintals by 2024.
