ECLAC expects world economy to grow by 5% in 2022

A special report prepared by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), indicates that after the 3.2% drop in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which took place in 2020, the world economy is expected to grow by 6% in 2021 and 5% in 2022.

The head of the Ministry of Housing, Michelle Sol, highlighted that the institution has invested US$366 million in different programs to facilitate access to a safe roof.

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Legislative Assembly issued favorable opinions for the Central Government to ratify the Immunities and Prerogatives Agreement between the Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF) and the Republic of El Salvador; the Subscription of Guarantee Capital Shares and the Subscription of Ordinary Capital Shares between the Andean Development Corporation and El Salvador and incorporation as a Member Country.

In a survey conducted by Dinero.com.sv in some fish sale and distribution stands in the country, sellers stated that this animal product has shown a slight increase in the last days.

IMF forecasts world growth to moderate to 4.4% in 2022

The International Monetary Fund (IMF), for the global economy, 2022 is starting off on weaker-than-expected terms. As the new omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus progresses, countries have once again instituted mobility restrictions.

The Asociación Salvadoreña de Intermediarios Bursátiles (ASIB), informed through its Twitter account that yesterday the Central Government held an auction of 360-day Certificados de la Tesorería de la Federación (CETES), awarding US$134 million.

The Ministry of Economy (MINEC), announced the new variations in fuel prices that will be in effect from january 25 to february 7, 2022. Premium, regular and super gasoline will increase US$0.22 and US$0.17.

The Mayor's Office of San Salvador carried out the Mega Job Fair 2022 which brought together more than 100 companies and exceeded 10 thousand job openings, between permanent and temporary. The activity was coordinated by the mayor of the capital, Mario Durán, through the Department of Employment Management.
