Fuels to increase US$0.21 and US$0.17 for the next 15 days

The Ministry of Economy (MINEC), announced the new variations in fuel prices that will be in effect from january 25 to february 7, 2022. Premium, regular and super gasoline will increase US$0.22 and US$0.17.

Superior gasoline for this fortnight will increase US$0.17 in the central and western zone, for the eastern zone it will increase US$0.16 with a suggested price of US$4.06 and US$4.02.

As for regular gasoline the increase will be US$0.16 for the central, western and eastern zones, with a suggested price of US$3.94 and U$3.90.

For diesel its increase will be US$0.21 in the central and western zones, for the eastern zone it will increase US$0.22.

It is recommended that all salvadorans can go to the gas station of their preference to fill up their vehicles, so that their pocket is not affected by this increase in fuel prices.

Likewise, MINEC points out that the increases are due to factors such as, lower production of crude oil for refining in low oil production of member and non-member countries of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
