Seafood prices increase in the country's markets and supermarkets

In a survey conducted by Dinero.com.sv in some fish sale and distribution stands in the country, sellers stated that this animal product has shown a slight increase in the last days.

Traders say that in the case of tilapia they used to offer it to their clients at US$1.25 and now, due to increases by fishermen and distributors, they are offering it at US$1.50 and US$1.75.

As for the boca colorada, its price used to be US$3.25, its current price in the market and convenience stores is US$3.75.

A pound of small shrimp used to cost US$3.00 and is currently priced at US$3.50 and US$4.00. Likewise, jumbo shrimp used to cost US$4.50 and is now US$5.00.

The sale of crab, its value was US$2.50 and now it is reaching US$3.50.

Members of the Confederación de Pescadores Artesanales de Centroamérica (CONFEPESCA), informed salvadorans about the conditions of the fishing and aquaculture sector at the national level.

At the conference they provided economic data on the sector and the current situation they are facing due to the pandemic.
