According to the Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO),  the importance of reducing food loss and waste becomes evident when we look at how much food is wasted in people's daily lives. In Latin America, it is estimated that around 15% of the food available in homes, stores and supermarkets, as well as in greengrocers and other places, is discarded as garbage.

As part of the commitment that Grupo Bimbo has with all Salvadorans, this day it made a donation of 560 gr. loaves of Bimbo White Bread to the Banco de Alimentos de El Salvador, which will be responsible for distributing it to the most vulnerable families in the country.

In the framework of World Food Day, celebrated on October 16, Walmart, together with a group of its suppliers, carried out the "Impacto Colectivo por la Alimentación", Campaign, which consists of joining efforts to make a donation in kind, according to their business area, to the region's Food Banks.
