Banco CUSCATLAN made a donation of US$5,000 to the Environmental Investment Fondo de Inversión Ambiental de El Salvador (FIAES), which carries out ecosystem restoration, rescue, and environmental conservation projects in our country.

This initiative is in addition to others that the institution has undertaken this year for the protection and benefit of salvadoran natural resources. As part of International Earth Day, Banco CUSCATLÁN made a donation of US$25,000 for cultural and sports projects in Parque Cuscatlán Photo

Other efforts also focused on the green lighting of the emblematic Torre CUSCATLAN , the delivery of flower seed kits to the 53 branches nationwide to contribute to the restoration of ecosystems, and an internal recycling campaign that will promote the implementation of sustainable projects proposed by the bank's employees.

"We are a company committed to our environment. We are pleased to support this type of initiatives that generate a positive impact on the reversal of deforestation and global warming. Our planet is in danger. This day we want to make an invitation to all salvadorans, so that together we promote environmental awareness by setting an example and ensuring a better future for new generations" said Ximena Robin, assistant manager of Public Relations of Banco CUSCATLAN.

This time the contribution will go to the: “Gestión sostenible de las zonas núcleo, amortiguamiento y conectividad en las áreas naturales: San Fernando y Torola” project, located in the Nahuaterique Conservation Area in Morazán.

"We thank Banco CUSCATLAN for the delivery of this important donation for our environmental cause, because to meet our reforestation goals we need the support of companies that join the fight and want to be part of the change, with significant contributions that allow us to develop more activities and projects", said Jorge Oviedo, executive director of FIAES.

The plan's efforts will focus on the preservation of forests and natural protected areas to promote the sustainability of ecosystem services such as water catchment, resource availability, and habitat for animal species, among others. In addition these efforts will also strengthen territorial environmental governance and promoting environmental, social and cultural well-being.
