Two cases of tax evasion for US$970 thousand presented to the FGR

The head of the Ministerio de Hacienda (MH), Alejandro Zelaya, explained that evading taxes is a serious crime and is punishable by imprisonment. The Tax Amnesty has already expired, this was the best opportunity to catch up.

The Dirección General de Impuestos Internos (DGII), a dependency of the MH, has investigated and submitted notices to the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) on suspicious cases.

The head of the FGR, Rodolfo Delgado, spoke of a capture that took place at the beginning of December, after identifying the non-payment of Income Tax (ISR).

Along with the Anti-evasion Plan, the MH continues to bring services and digitalize procedures so that taxpayers who do want to have clear accounts can do so quickly, transparently and with the advice they need.

Due to these actions, the Central Government has achieved an increase in tax collection of approximately $2,000 million, which is reflected in works that benefit salvadorans.
