Banco Hipotecario is making the plan to improve and expand its financial services for salvadorans outside the country's borders a reality by opening a new information kiosk located at the Consulate General of El Salvador in Dallas, Texas.

The new service point was inaugurated by Celina Padilla, president of the bank, accompanied by Cindy Portal, vice minister for Diaspora and Human Mobility, Milton Chinchilla, consul of El Salvador in that place. This is the second kiosk made available by the bank, after opening one earlier this year at the consulate in Los Angeles, California.

"With this initiative we are reiterating the commitment of the government of President Nayib Bukele with the diaspora, a segment of the population considered very important for the development of the country and the economy of the salvadoran family", said the head.

Through this new information point, the approximately 160 thousand salvadorans living in Dallas, Texas will have the facility to create their savings and checking accounts from that place. In addition, they will be able to make deposits, transfer remittances and purchase homes or land for their families in El Salvador.

"We know that many times it can be complicated or we believe that we cannot do it because we do not have viable and safe options at hand, but with this kiosk our people can come and ask the respective questions and take advantage of the facility that is offered with these financial services", she said.

"As you know, the government of President Nayib Bukele is committed to improving the services provided to the diaspora, but also to bring new initiatives that allow them to generate welfare for their families and contribute to the development of the country", she said.

In addition, the bank's president mentioned that this opening represents "a new way to bring closer and make available our financial services, which for decades was a space where our population was not given the necessary support or recognition".

Meardi explained that this is an important step forward for the bank and our nationals, since through this resource they are "eliminating the barriers that limit the financial inclusion of the diaspora, implementing and putting in place strategies that allow people to have access to responsible and sustainable financial services".

In addition, they will be able to access advice on how to obtain financial products offered by the bank.
