Dairy products are a fundamental part of the daily diet of salvadoran families, and also play an important role in the national economy. There is a record of approximately 66 thousand cattle breeders and different processing companies, including large, medium and small, which have also undertaken the processing of milk.

"We believe that the farmer must have training, learn new technologies, new lines of work and also be able to coexist the two links in the production chain" explains Lorena Heredia de Amaya, Executive Director of ASILECHE regarding the objectives of ENLAC 2022.

The dairy sector (farmers, industry) has been unable to hold its congress for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ENLAC 2022 forum will be held in honor of "Federico Colorado", who was an entrepreneur in the dairy industry and president of ASILECHE since its foundation. He passed away in december 2020.

There will be two days of presentations with specialists from different countries such as Italy, Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico and Honduras, as well as prominent speakers from El Salvador. The meeting will close with a master conference that will allow everyone to visualize the growth and strengthening that should be sought despite the global crisis. "Important topics on feeding, nutrition, new lines of technology, services, inputs, will be addressed to maintain a first level livestock and dairy processing industry, and why not say it, updated with the latest that has and should be done after the pandemic", says Heredia.

Officials from different ministries involved in the dairy sector will be present at the opening and closing ceremonies. According to Heredia "we are looking for an exchange of ideas, opinions and contributions. We want to have, as we have called it, not a meeting, but a "chain meeting".

The event will have an exhibition for all visitors with a stand of different dairy products, machinery and services.
