With the new electric car-power station at the Hotel Courtyard, AES has 19 charging points distributed in its offices and in strategic partners' locations. It has also added 15 electric vehicles to its vehicle fleet to implement this technology in its operations.

During 2022, the energy company will continue to install more charging stations in public access locations, thus extending the coverage of its network of stations for the benefit of electric vehicle users and the environment.

Benefits of electromobility

The energy company stated that a full charge of the battery of an average electric vehicle takes about four hours and costs between six to seven dollars, providing a range of approximately 400 kilometers.

AES informed that, during the introduction stage of this service, the owners of electric vehicles that want to use the electric station will not have to pay for the energy consumed, in order to stimulate electromobility in the country.

Another advantage of electromobility is its environmental impact. An electric vehicle is zero emissions, that is, while it is in motion it does not produce polluting gases, which has a direct impact on improving air quality in cities.

Additionally, cars that run on energy emit almost no noise, thus reducing noise pollution.

Likewise, electric cars do not require lubricants and filters, which reduce the handling of hazardous waste and pollutants.
