Davivienda carries out a cleanup day in San Diego Beach

Written by Leydin Sorto

Banco Davivienda seeks to create environmental awareness and generate a positive impact on society; therefore, it recently conducted a new cleaning day in the area of the mouth of San Diego Beach, in La Libertad, which in addition to allowing the collection of waste, allows preparing the conditions for sea turtle nesting.

This action is part of the sea turtle conservation program that has been carried out in conjunction with the Fundación Zoológica de El Salvador, FUNZEL, for more than 13 years; through the opening of digital green accounts such as DaviPlata, Time Deposit and Mobile Account, the bank contributes to this project through the creation of hatching pens in beaches such as San Diego, Majahual and this year we started in Toluca.

"At Davivienda we believe that the world is our home, so we work to make it more prosperous, inclusive and green. With the beach cleanup days we are directly helping the area of the San Diego corral and the community to support the nesting female turtles to reach the beach and the newborn hatchlings can have their free path to the sea", said Sabina Ayala, Sustainability Coordinator of Davivienda El Salvador.

Banco Davivienda, in addition to promoting cleanliness in external areas, also has recycling stations in its network of branches throughout the country and promotes training among its employees, such as the "zero waste" program so that they learn about waste management and thus generate a greater impact from home; as well as the implementation of the "zero paper" program, where its service and attention processes are aimed at digitization and self-service in its Online Banking.
