The event will be held from tuesday, october 10 to thursday, october 12, with the theme of this edition focusing on climate change and how ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) metrics drive business strategy towards sustainable development.
Since 2013 FUNDEMAS has held this space that has become the main business space, where tools, experiences and practical cases are shared so that salvadoran companies become allies of the economic, social and environmental development of El Salvador. Since then, 10 business meetings have been held (2013-2022) with more than 20,000 participants. For the year 2023 the event will return to its 100% face-to-face modality.
The 2023 edition of Sustainability and CSR Week will focus on "Trends that will mark the business agenda", which will address current issues in the global business world, such as climate change, environmental, social and governance (ESG) metrics, employability, gender equality, among others.
This event seeks to contribute to the generation of a sustainable business environment through:
- Developing a meeting of companies and organizations working for sustainability today, for the construction of a better country and society of tomorrow,
- Inspire current and future leaders to be part of the change that the country needs,
- To address the main trends, benefits and opportunities for companies in terms of sustainability, for the economic, social and environmental development of the country, as well as for the competitiveness of organizations.
Since its first edition, the event has had the participation of more than 20,000 attendees, more than 300 speakers and more than 300 allied companies, including salvadoran companies, foundations, trade associations, media and international cooperation agencies.
Among the topics that have been addressed during Sustainability and CSR Week in previous editions, since 2013, are: dialogue, innovation for sustainability, Sustainable Development Goals, violence prevention, among others.
Since its first edition, Sustainability and CSR Week has supported salvadoran companies to consolidate their sustainability and CSR strategy, with relevant results such as:
Knowledge about Sustainability has grown among salvadoran companies, as has positively evolved the adoption of responsible business practices in the different axes of application.
Sustainability strategies have been consolidated in companies such as: development of ethical culture and governance, circular economy programs, workforce programs, gender equality, community investment, among others.
Many companies have integrated sustainability and CSR strategies throughout their value chain, including suppliers, distributors, etc.
