The official assured that he seeks to guarantee stability in the costs of agricultural inputs and not to allow speculation by some traders.
For this reason, the official, accompanied by the President of the Defensoría del Consumidor Ricardo Salazar, toured the departmental capital of La Unión.
The head of the ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) pointed out that there is a downward trend in the cost of agro-inputs, which should be reflected in the price to end consumers.
"We must ensure that this reduction reaches consumers, as we begin the post-harvest season and we must guarantee accessibility and fair prices to all our producers", said minister Parada.
The President of the Defensoría del Consumidor said that the institution evaluates the behavior of the international market, noting that there is a trend towards stabilization and cost reduction.
"International markets are showing stability, and fortunately it is beginning to be perceived in the final price to producers", said Salazar.
In addition, both agreed that to date the Defensoría del Consumidor, in coordination with the MAG, has conducted more than 3,800 inspections nationwide, of which 55 cases have presented indications of price speculation and 35 were accepted by the sanctioning court.
"We will not allow importers or traders to take advantage of the situation, so we will initiate a nationwide tour to ensure price accessibility and that the reductions reach everyone", concluded minister Parada.
