Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposes to expand items in the FTA with Chile

Written by Denis Muñoz

The Vice Chancellor of the Republic held a meeting with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago de Chile, with a view to strengthen ties and identify opportunities for joint work that contribute to boost business between the two destinations.

One of these is the Free Trade Agreement between El Salvador and Chile, which offers interesting possibilities to expand the treaty for textiles and clothing, agriculture and pharmaceuticals.

It should be noted that the items with the greatest sales potential in Chile, exported by El Salvador are: processed foods, bakery, dairy products, pastas, fats, vegetable fruits, clothing, plastics, chemicals and cleaning products.

This treaty has increased exports of goods, as well as the participation of salvadoran companies in important world markets, such as Chile.

The diplomat shared economic information and discussed the potential for expanding sales and for the implementation of enterprises, taking advantage of the agreements that both countries have in force.
