These efforts are focused on positioning the national exportable offer in foreign markets, as well as attracting investments from other countries, promoting tourism and boosting other development projects.

Thus, for the first four months of 2023, this State portfolio, together with its network of Embassies, Consulates and Economic Counseling Offices, directly enabled a total of foreign sales for an amount exceeding US$812 thousand.

Among the goods for which markets were opened are agro-industrial products, textiles and apparel, food and beverages, plastics and rubber, among others.

In the field of investments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic materialized the implementation of business projects that reach US$940 thousand, which are located in the areas of real estate tourism and the import of electric vehicles, to mention a few.

Both for exports and for the attraction of capital, it has been possible to link with clients and partners located in North, Central and South America, as well as in the Eurasian area, regions that are strategic for the interests and economic relations promoted by El Salvador.

During this period, the institution has also carried out and participated in 45 fairs and face-to-face and virtual events in 24 key countries for the promotion of trade, the stimulation of investments and the attraction of tourists.

Likewise, the arrival in our territory of 30 international delegations interested in learning first-hand about the potential of El Salvador for the development of commercial projects and business ideas, among other productive activities, has been arranged and coordinated.

In 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs enabled effective sales abroad for an amount of US$2.2 million. In terms of investments, US$43 million were made in infrastructure, manufacturing, and renewable energy projects, among others.
